The story
Moanyfans is the pub without the pub: Premier League, Old Firm, Championship — built by fans, for fans, with no algorithm trying to sell you a fitness watch.
We built the platform end to end: the brand, the feed, accounts and profiles, media uploads and the moderation admin — engineered to soft-launch around a World Cup and scale from there.

What we built
- Brand & voice
- Terrace-red, tabloid-bold and unapologetic — a brand built to be worn in a group chat, not a boardroom.
- The feed
- A match-day feed built for volume: posts, reactions and media, tuned so the banter loads faster than the replay.
- Accounts, profiles & media
- Sign-up, profiles, image uploads and the storage architecture behind them — built to move to object storage as the crowd grows.
- Moderation & admin
- The unglamorous half of a community platform: reporting, moderation tooling and an admin that keeps match day sane.
Building a community platform that can take a crowd
Social products fail in two ways: nobody comes, or everybody comes at once. Moanyfans is engineered for the second problem — a feed architecture that stays quick on a Saturday at five o'clock, media storage that scales in stages, and an infrastructure plan that steps up with daily active users rather than paying for the peak from day one.
It's also a case study in scope discipline: version one is the pub — the feed, the fans and the fixtures — with monetisation designed but deliberately parked until the crowd's in.
